The Costa Del Sol, the Sunshine Coast, stretches along the Malaga Coast from near the city of Estapona in the west, to Nija in the east. It encompasses many fishing villages, including Mijas which is one of the few remaining with traditional restaurants and a beautiful sandy seaside coastline. Much of the surrounding coastline has high hills or mountains very close to the Mediterranean Sea. La Cala de Mijas, or Mijas Costa, is one of the very few coastal fishing villages where you can walk on flat land to water.
